Dolphins Host UFL Safety for Visit
The Miami Dolphins have worked out Birmingham Stallions safety Hudson Clark. The 6-foot-2 safety was selected by the UFL club in early January.
Clark was a 5-year role player for the Arkansas Razorbacks and earned many academic honors. He started as a walk-on, but later earned a scholarship and spent 5 years playing special teams and making an impact on defense. He was not on many teams’ radars heading into the 2025 NFL draft but had interest as an undrafted free agent for his versatility on defense and potential special teams contributions.
The Las Vegas Raiders signed him to a standard deal in May, but he was later waived in August. He decided to pivot his journey and play in the UFL after being selected by Birmingham.
In 8 games played, Clark recorded 12 solo tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and an interception. Miami is the only known team to host Clark on a visit after his standard 1-year deal with the Stallions expired. The visit was held earlier last week.
Miami has now officially interviewed 2 former UFL safeties. Major Burns of Houston was hosted in late May. The team is clearly interested in bringing some competition to the safety room, as it has a lot of inexperience and lacks top-end talent. They have not made any move to sign any big players since the extra cap space came in after June 1st.
I doubt Miami heads into the official training camp in July without a few extra players, especially on the defensive side.
