Dolphins Stock Up/Stock Down Report: Dolphins vs Colts Recap
Week 1 of the regular season is in the books, and the Miami Dolphins played a complete stinker and were beaten from the opening kickoff to the final gun. A 33-8 butt kicking by the Colts. Daniel Jones looked like Peyton Manning in his prime, and the Dolphins had no answers.
Here is my Stock Up/Stock Down report.
De’Von Achane: For as bad as Miami was on offense, Achane had more than a few nice runs and moved the chains. He may be the only player I can say anything positive about on the offensive side of the ball. And he did it behind a poor offensive line.
Dee Eskridge: His kickoff return in the 1st quarter was a thing of beauty and he almost broke it for a score. He is a great returner and one of the few bright spots for Miami in this game, and probably will be a bright spot all season.
Miami’s Pass Rush: For all of the hype surrounding Miami’s “outstanding front seven,” it was a huge disappointment in the first half. They couldn’t get near Daniel Jones and were easily blocked by the Colts’ offensive line.
Tua Tagovailoa: He was awful. It’s year 6 for him, and he was as bad as ever in this game. A horrible interception early in the first quarter, followed by a fumble in the first half, and another interception in the third quarter. He is a middle-of-the-road quarterback at best, and if you’re a fan who still can’t see that, then you have been brainwashed or have your head so far up his ass you can’t see reality.
Mike McDaniel: This team wasn’t ready, and he did a terrible job calling the offensive plays in this game. Mike McDaniel is a bad NFL head coach. I have said it for two years. I have a feeling others will be saying the same now, and their eyes have been opened.
Anthony Weaver: A poor performance by the Dolphins’ defensive coordinator, where his pass rush couldn’t get home, and the secondary had guys running wide open all day.
