Dolphins Training Camp Practice #1 Recap

The Miami Dolphins had their first training camp practice today. It wasn’t open to the public, and there was no contact in this practice. Jeff Hafley did say they would have practices this summer that included tackling, but since it was the first practice, they didn’t do that today, obviously.

DolphinsTalk.com had a little birdie on site who sent us these notes on what took place on the field

Malik Willis had a strong overall day at practice and made no poor decisions.

There were no one-on-one or seven-on-seven drills Wednesday.

Jason Marshall broke up a pass intended for Malik Washington.

Will Kacmarek showed outstanding hands in receiving drills and was also a lead blocker at times on plays as well.

Austin Jackson was on the field and a full participant for the practice and played well today.

Theo Wease caught a pass for about 15 yards.

Kevin Coleman caught a screen pass for around 9 yards.

Carlos Washington had a run for about 9 yards.

Seydou Traore had a reception for roughly 11 yards.

Jacob Rodriguez broke up two passes and was very good in pass coverage.

Jaylen Wright had a run for about 4 yards.

Ben Sims caught a pass for 4 yards.

Jordan Phillips jumped offsides on a play.

Chop Robinson was in the backfield on a few plays, but did not record a “would-be sack”.

Rookie CB Chris Johnson did drills both as a boundary CB and a nickel CB.

Caleb Douglas called for a false start on a play

Quinn Ewers threw an INT; it was picked off by Michael Taaffe. Robert Beal Jr with pressure forcing the throw by Ewers.

Jamaree Salyer had a solid practice, but was poked in the eye at one point.

Willie Gay had an interception pick-6 on a Cam Miller pass.

JuJu Brents broke up a pass intended for Malik Washington.

David Ojabo forced a fumble from Ollie Gordon.

Kevin Coleman Jr. and Seydou Traore both had 3 receptions on the day.

Kevin Coleman Jr. caught a pass for about 25 yards or so from Willis.

Two referees were at practice on Wednesday.

Cameron Goode and Matthew Butler combined for a sack on a play.

Zeke Biggers lined up both inside and outside on the defensive line on Wednesday.

Dante Trader tackled De’Von Achane on a play at the line of scrimmage.

Tyrel Dodson tackled Jaylen Wright on a play at the line of scrimmage.

Ollie Gordon had a run for about 10 yards (give or take).

Jordyn Brooks had a tackle for loss on De’Von Achane.

Cam Miller scrambled on a play for about 8 yards.

Malik Willis overthrew Tutu Atwell on a pass attempt.

Ethan Bonner dropped an interception on a pass thrown by Ewers.
