Drake Maye capped his second NFL season as one of the league’s breakout stars, leading the New England Patriots to a 14-3 regular-season record and the franchise’s first Super Bowl appearance since 2018. The third overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft completed the season with 31 passing touchdowns, eight interceptions, and 4 rushing scores, earning Pro Bowl honors and second-team All-Pro recognition.
Since the season ended, Maye has remained active off the field with his wife, Ann Michael Maye, launching the MayeDay Family Foundation, a nonprofit supporting children and families in need.
Their first event, a celebrity softball classic, will be held May 31 at Polar Park in Worcester, Massachusetts. The foundation also funds a child life therapist position at Boston Children’s Hospital, helping pediatric oncology patients.
As part of their charitable efforts, Drake and Ann Michael were spotted Tuesday at Boston Children’s Hospital participating in the annual “Saving by Shaving” event, a fundraiser that supports pediatric care.
A clip has been circulating online, showing Maye sporting a new low-cut hairstyle, with Ann Michael assisting with the haircut (h/t Christopher Price of The Boston Globe).
Fans quickly reacted to Maye’s change in physical appearance. Some expressed their admiration for his new look, while others poked fun at his haircut.

“He's still beautiful,” one fan wrote.
“He looks like he is 9 years old,” another added.
“This haircut just confirms he is on the spectrum. His eyes,” another fan posted.
“Props to Maye, shaving his head for charity,” Boston Globe’s Ben Volin said.
“New look Drake ,” a fan mentioned.
“they took my qb hair off,” another fan added.
While Maye continues to make moves off the field, he will also be preparing for the Patriots’ 2026 offseason program. Voluntary workouts are expected to begin around April 20, followed by Organized Team Activities (OTAs) on May 19-20, May 22, May 27-28, May 30, June 2-3, and June 5, with a mandatory minicamp scheduled for June 9-11.
Maye is expected to fully participate despite the right shoulder issue he played through during the Super Bowl.
