The Miami Dolphins are widely expected to address their offensive line during the 2025 NFL Draft. They need at least one interior starter to complement free-agent addition James Daniels, while offensive tackle could also be an issue.
With various needs across the roster, one prominent South Florida sports agent believes the Dolphins should fill their need at offensive guard by signing one of his clients.
Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reported that, "On his weekly segment on WSVN-7, Drew Rosenhaus - asked about Dolphins OL - mentions he has free agent Dalton Risner. He was PFF's No. 22 overall guard last season and would make a lot of sense."

Risner was selected by the Denver Broncos in the second round (No. 41 overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. He spent four seasons with Denver before playing the last two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings.
As noted by Jackson, Risner finished as the No. 22 overall guard last season, according to Pro Football Focus. He also has familiarity with Miami's coaching staff, having played under current Dolphins offensive coach Butch Barry for one season in Denver.
With five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Terron Armstead officially announcing his retirement earlier this week, some would argue that left tackle is just as big of a need. However, the Dolphins had anticipated his retirement, using their 2024 second-round pick (No. 55 overall) on Houston offensive tackle Patrick Paul.
Paul started three games during his rookie season but did not perform particularly well. According to PFF's metrics, Paul was one of the worst tackles in the league.
He finished his rookie season with an overall grade of 44.9 (127th out of 141 tackles), a pass-blocking grade of 55.8 (93rd out of 141), and a run-blocking grade of 41.0 (139th out of 141).
Although Risner is entering his age-30 season, he could be an underrated addition to Miami's offensive line. While he may not be a long-term solution, signing him would allow the Dolphins to concentrate on addressing other needs like defensive line, cornerback, safety, and maybe even left tackle.
