Some might see it as looking too far ahead for the 2026 NFL Draft, but draft season technically never ends.

The Philadelphia Eagles are going to have some interesting situations in the offseason where they could use the draft to find potential replacements. They will have needs in certain areas of the roster as they continue in pursuit of getting younger and saving money.

Bleacher Report's scouting department compiled an article examining each NFL team's biggest roster needs and potential targets in the NFL Draft. The Eagles' biggest positions of need were tight end at the top, second being edge rusher, and last being right guard.

At tight end, the Eagles have three great options they could pick from in the draft. Here are the three that Bleacher Report feels are the best scheme fits at tight end for Philly:

  • Jack Endries, Texas (B/R's No. 21)
  • Kenyon Sadiq, Oregon (B/R's No. 30)
  • Max Klare, Ohio State (B/R's Unranked)

"It seems like Dallas Goedert's time in Philadelphia will be coming to an end soon. Goedert turned 30 in January and will be a free agent in the offseason, putting this year's crop of tight ends on Howie Roseman's radar.

Endries was the top player at the position on B/R's initial big board, largely due to his ability to make plays after the catch.

Meanwhile, Sadiq is in line for a big season now that he's not competing for snaps with Rams' second-round pick Terrance Ferguson, and Klare could push for the top spot after transferring from Purdue to Ohio State."

Should the Eagles consider drafting a tight end and move on from Goedert?

It's a contract season for Goedert after he took a $4 million reduction in his contract for 2025 to stay on the team. He got off to a good start to the season in the Eagles' 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys with a team-high seven receptions on seven targets for 44 yards.

Ultimately, the Eagles will have to consider the financial aspect and whether they can afford Goedert if he has a great season. If he has another down season, it will make the decision to move on from him easier.

The big thing with the three potential prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft at tight end that Bleacher Report connected with the Eagles is their pass-catching ability. They don't necessarily need a great pass blocker, but more of a threat in the passing game.

Eagles fans would love to find a way to keep Goedert on the team beyond 2025, but there are bigger priorities for the team to sign big contracts the next two to three years. The draft will have to be used to set the future of the franchise up at tight end.
