Eagles Great Donovan McNabb Announces New Career Move

Former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb is taking on a new role tied to the franchise he guided for more than a decade.

HMA announced Monday that McNabb will co-host the Philadelphia Eagles Collective with content creator Thomas Mott and reporter Zach Berman. The weekly program debuts Sept. 15 at 3 p.m. ET.

The show will cover the Eagles throughout the 2026 season. Philadelphia opens at home against the Washington Commanders on Sept. 13, two days before the first episode airs.

McNabb then will have the Week 1 result to discuss before the Eagles travel to face the Tennessee Titans on Sept. 20.

McNabb spent 11 seasons in Philadelphia after the Eagles selected him with the No. 2 overall pick in the 1999 NFL draft. He started from 1999 through 2009.

He led the team to five NFC East titles and five NFC Championship Game appearances. The Eagles reached Super Bowl XXXIX during his tenure.

McNabb holds several franchise passing records. He threw for 32,873 yards and 216 touchdowns with the Eagles, both team marks. He also completed 2,801 passes on 4,746 attempts in Philadelphia.

The Eagles call him the winningest quarterback in team history. He went 92-49-1 as a starter in green. He earned six Pro Bowl selections.

The organization inducted McNabb into its Hall of Fame in 2013 and retired his No. 5 jersey. He remains a regular voice in sports media since retiring.

The Eagles show becomes the 21st program in HMA’s Creator Collective. The company said more than 10 additional team-specific shows are expected over the next year.

Berman has covered the Eagles since 2012 and writes for The Athletic. He previously worked at the Philadelphia Inquirer, The Washington Post and The New York Times. He has written books on the franchise, including one on the Super Bowl run.

Mott built a large digital following with Eagles analysis. HMA said his YouTube work focused on the team has generated more than 34 million views.

McNabb brings a different viewpoint. He played the most scrutinized position in a demanding market and lived through both the highs of deep playoff runs and the criticism that followed.

In his 2013 retirement news conference with the Eagles, McNabb reflected on that relationship.

“I told the fans that I would bring a championship here. My goal was to have that parade down Broad Street,” he said.

Across his full 13-year NFL career with the Eagles, Washington and Minnesota, McNabb passed for 37,276 yards and 234 touchdowns. He added 3,459 rushing yards and 29 rushing scores.

The current Eagles finished 11-6 in 2025. McNabb’s presence on a dedicated weekly show gives fans a former starter’s take as Jalen Hurts and the present roster begin another campaign.

The first episode arrives quickly after kickoff. Viewers will see how the mix of a Hall of Fame quarterback, a veteran beat writer and a digital creator lands with one of the league’s most passionate fan bases.
