The Eagles will once again play one of the most highly anticipated schedules of the 2026 season, and one marquee opponent proves that.
The 2025 Philadelphia Eagles had arguably the best roster in the entire NFL. A year removed from a dominant Super Bowl win, the Birds were supposed to take a step towards a dynasty.
Instead, things fell apart pretty quickly, as the offense struggled to generate the same kind of explosion and efficiency, and the drama reached an all-time high over the course of the season. That opened the door for the Seattle Seahawks to swoop in and take the crown, and now the Eagles will have a shot at revenge.
“For Philly, a non-divisional regular season game can’t be much bigger than this one. It’s a matchup to prove they’re still real contenders in the NFC picture, against the defending Super Bowl champions. But also it’s a head-to-head that has been extremely favorable for the Seahawks lately.”
“Seattle has won eight consecutive games versus Philly. The Eagles’ most recent victory over the Seahawks came in 2008, and the quarterback matchup was Donovan McNabb vs. Seneca Wallace.” – Wendell Ferreira, A to Z Sports
The biggest question revolving around the Birds is what the team will look like in 2026 on the offensive side of the ball. Kevin Patullo is out, and new OC Sean Mannion is in. The Eagles also lost arguably the best offensive line coach in the league via Jeff Stoutland, and it is widely believed that AJ Brown will be sent packing.
The Eagles are bullish about Jalen Hurts in a new system, getting Saquon Barkley back to dominate ball running, and feeding new WR Makai Lemon alongside DeVonta Smith. We’ll see if Philly can put it all together when the time comes.
