The Philadelphia Eagles  had a bit of a scare when it was reported that defensive tackle Jalen Carter was dealing with an illness ahead of Super Bowl Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.

However, after being limited in practice on Wednesday, Carter was a full participant on Thursday.

Both Landon Dickerson (knee) and Cam Jurgens (back) were full participants on Wednesday after not practicing last week with the same injuries. Linebacker Zack Baun (groin), wide receiver Britain Covey (neck), tight end Dallas Goedert (ankle), running back Kenny Gainwell (concussion/knee), and tight C.J. Uzomah (abdomen) were also full participants.

Defensive end Brandon Graham (elbow), and wide receiver DeVonta Smith (hamstring) remained limited participants on Thursday.

Backup center Nick Gates (groin) was the only new name to pop up on Thursday's injury report and he still practiced some.

Eagles vs. Chiefs Super Bowl Thursday Injury Report Observations

  • Defensive tackle Jalen Carter's return to practice in full is a great sign.
  • Starting center Cam Jurgens was forced to play through his back injury during the NFC championship after Landon Dickerson left early due to a knee injury. Both are good to go for Sunday.
  • Tight end Dallas Goedert has previously missed practice due to his ankle injury but still played in the NFC championship.
  • Linebacker Zack Baun popped up on last week's Friday injury report with a groin injury.
  • Wide receiver DeVonta Smith has been on and off the injury report with a hamstring injury, so we should expect him to be fine.
  • Backup defensive end Mojo Ojomo (shoulder) and backup right guard Brett Toth (knee) are off the injury report from last week.
  • Backup running back Kenny Gainwell suffered a concussion/knee injury during the NFC championship game. It looks like he is progressing through concussion protocol.
  • Philly added some emergency depth behind Gainwell last week, signing running back Lew Nichols to the practice squad.
  • The Eagles opened wide receiver Britain Covey's (neck) 21-day practice window. Rookie cornerback/returner Cooper DeJean has taken his place on the punt return.
  • The Eagles opened defensive end Brandon Graham (elbow) and tight end C.J. Uzomah's 21-day practice windows last week.
