Eagles likely to make ‘mass changes’ after playoff loss

The Philadelphia Eagles followed up a Super Bowl victory with an NFC wild-card loss, and that is likely to bring big changes to the organization.

In an appearance on ESPN’s “Get Up!” Monday, Adam Schefter said the expectation around the NFL is that the Eagles will make “mass changes to jump-start the offense” during the offseason. That will likely include offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, who is unlikely to keep his job.

Despite boasting the likes of Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown, and DeVonta Smith, the Eagles offense largely ranged from mediocre to downright bad for much of the season. The team seemed unwilling to take any significant risks, particularly in the passing game, and Barkley never got going either. All of that led to increasingly urgent calls to fire Patullo during the season, but the move never came.

Changes may also involve on-field personnel. Brown, in particular, has seemed disgruntled for much of the season, and that did not change during the Eagles’ playoff exit. There has been speculation that he might be traded during the offseason after an underwhelming campaign.
