Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni is having a tough go of it.

The Eagles have lost four consecutive games for the first time during Sirianni’s tenure with the team, and now he’s going to have to hand over a hefty chunk of change to the NFL.

Nick Sirianni Fined $250,000 for Conduct Toward Officials

According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, Sirianni was one of three coaches who were fined $250,000 for unacceptable conduct towards officials. The other two coaches to get hit with the fine were New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel and New York Jets coach Aaron Glenn.

Clearly the league is trying to get a message with such hefty fines, but according to Breer, the fines are in abeyance, which means that they’re on hold, and could potentially be rescinded with good behavior. Sirianni, however, isn’t necessarily known for good behavior towards official, so we’ll have to wait and see if his fine ultimately gets repealed.

Sirianni obviously has much bigger things to worry about than a fine: Like how to help lead the Eagles to their first victory since the second weekend of the season without star quarterback Jalen Hurts, who will miss the remainder of the season due to blood clots. Sirianni has lacked answers so far this season, and his long-term job security could hinge on his ability to come up with some, soon.

What Does Nick Sirianni Look Like Without Jalen Hurts?

For the first time, we’re about to see what a Nick Sirianni-coached team looks like without Jalen Hurts operating the offense. Sirianni’s first season in Philadelphia coincided with Hurts’ first season as a full-time starter, and the two have been a successful duo ever since.

“I mean, Jalen and I have been together, head coach and quarterback, for six years or 5 ½ years,” Sirianni pointed out earlier this week.

Now, we’ll find out if Sirianni can achieve some success with another signal-caller behind the line for an extended period of time. It remains to be seen if the Eagles will stick with Tanner McKee at QB, or if they’ll look for another option. But, regardless of what they decide to do, the pressure will be on for Sirianni, and now he won’t have his star QB to help him through a tough time.
