Eagles' Saquon Barkley Not Ranked No. 1 Running Back Per PFF

The Philadelphia Eagles have perhaps the best running back in the NFL in Saquon Barkley.

But apparently some do not believe that to be the case.

In a recent article by PFF's Trevor Sikkema, he ranks all 32 starting running backs ahead of the 2025 season. At No. 1, you would think he would have Barkley, but he has Baltimore Ravens star Derrick Henry at the top instead.

That's stunning to us, and here's why: If what Saquon did last year doesn't get him to No. 1 ... what in the world would PFF ask him to do more of to get the nod?

We're not saying that Henry is undeserving of attention at running back, so putting him at the top spot is not blasphemous whatsoever. But if anyone earned that No. 1 ranking in 2024, it was Barkley.

He racked up an absurd total of 2,005 rushing yards with 13 touchdowns this past season. Barkley was also able to get it done in the passing game a bit with 28 yards and a pair of touchdowns through the air.

The Eagles star had more rushing and scrimmage yards in 2024 than Henry, and he did while playing one less game because the team rested him in Week 17 in preparation for the playoffs.

Speaking of the postseason, Barkley was absolutely unreal, totaling 499 yards and five touchdowns through four games while averaging a very impressive 5.5 yards per carry.

All of this is not to say, again, that it is not outlandish to see King Henry above Barkley. Heck, the Eagles star and Super Bowl hero might use it as fuel a bit heading into a season where he and the rest of the team are looking to defend the Lombardi Trophy.
