Victors get to tell the story of history, and several members of the 2024 Philadelphia Eagles will have the privilege of telling theirs.
With "America's Game", a crucial part of the NFL's story, the NFL (or Eagles), will turn to Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, Zack Baun, and Nick Sirianni to relay the highs, the lows, and the pinnacle of the franchise's 2nd Lombardi victory. Even more fitting, celebrity Eagles superfan actor Bradley Cooper will narrate the episode.
For those unfamiliar, the series "America's Game: The Super Bowl Champions" debuted in 2006 and started with the "top 20" Super Bowl teams airing from November 2006 to February 2007. The success of the show led to an additional 20 episodes from February 9th, 2007, to April 30th, 2007.
In September of 2007, the series became an annual showing with the Indianapolis Colts "kicking off" the "holiday". The franchise also showed the side of several of the defeated teams such as the 1981 San Diego Chargers, 1969 Minnesota Vikings, 1988 Cincinnati Bengals, 1990 Buffalo Bills and the 1998 Minnesota Vikings through their spin-off titled "The Missing Rings".
The Eagles will now be featured for the second time in the show's history, with the 2018 episode featuring Carson Wentz, Nick Foles, Brandon Graham, and LeGarrette Blount. The episode was narrated by actor David Boreanaz, a Philadelphia transplant since he was seven years old.
As the NFL season inches closer, fans have been blessed with a bit of NFL content, giving them some semblance of professional football. Between the preseason, training camp, "Hard Knocks (featuring the Buffalo Bills), and now "America's Game", NFL fans (specifically Eagles fans) will be chomping at the bit, for the 106th season of the National Football League gets ready to kick off.
The series is set to continue on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. EST on NFL Network, with the regular season beginning on Thursday, when the Eagles host the Dallas Cowboys.
