After all the chatter and noise about the rough play of the secondary in the Philadelphia Eagles' 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys, a clear message was sent on Monday morning about what general manager Howie Roseman is going to do about it.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that the Eagles are bringing in former Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Mike Hilton for a workout on Monday. Should Hilton be signed, this would be the second new cornerback the Eagles have brought in after trading with the Las Vegas Raiders for Jakorian Bennett during training camp.

The 31-year-old corner was an undrafted free agent in 2016, but didn't step on the field until 2017 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Over the last eight years, Hilton played for the Steelers and Bengals, becoming a reliable starter. He has racked up 520 tackles, 66 tackles for loss, 32 quarterback hits, 11.5 sacks, 56 pass deflections, 13 interceptions, and one touchdown in 123 games.
Philly signed Jackson to a one-year deal in the offseason as insurance for if Kelee Ringo did not develop into a starter. Plan B came to play with Jackson winning the starting job at CB2 for the game against the Cowboys.
Jackson struggled as he got torched by CeeDee Lamb and KaVontae Turpin time and time again. He even gave himself a grade of "C" for his performance in the game. Eagles fans might not have been as high on their grade of him.
This felt like it was only a matter of time before the Eagles would start looking into free agency or the trade market to potentially add another cornerback. It's not clear whether this is a legit workout that will lead to a signing or a scare tactic to get Jackson and the rest of the cornerbacks to improve.
Roseman's plan for a youth movement on the Eagles' roster has not seemed to have paid off so far, as they signed three-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Za'Darius Smith on Friday. Jackson was the older Eagles defender who was active for the Cowboys game at age 29.
Eagles fans wouldn't mind another cornerback to come in and try to fix the CB2 job, but this might start asking more questions about why the team didn't properly address this in the offseason instead of letting Darius Slay and James Bradberry go.
