Emmanuel Acho enraged by Kyle Shanahan firing Steve Wilks after 49ers’ Super Bowl loss

Following the termination, Emmanuel Acho expressed his frustration over the HC as he said in a video he posted on X:

Kyle Shanahan got me heated. Shanahan, you wasted a season… Blitzing is what Steve Wilks does. If you didn’t want Wilks to blitz, then why’d you hire him? Then the Super Bowl, biggest stage, everybody watching in the biggest moment. You call a timeout to question Steve Wilks. You never believed in the dude in the first place, now you’re gonna fire him. Emmanuel Acho said

The analyst further noted that Shanahan had been whimsical regarding a lot of hiring in the team. He further added that this decision could affect the careers of the All-Pro players, playing in the defense.

The analyst added:

Shanahan, you got to know what you’re doing before you do it. You can’t just be hiring dudes all willy nilly. When you got All-Pros all over the defense, you’re wasting their careers. Hire somebody that you believe in, and go get the job done. Emmanuel Acho added

Kyle Shanahan started doubting the ability of Steve Wilks

The relationship between the head coach Kyle Shanahan and Steve Wilks started taking bad turns after the playoffs. The team’s defense played well in the regular season. However, they lost the rhythm in the two playoff games. In the Championship battle, the team suffered a trail of 17 points in the first two quarters. Though the team won, they were unhappy with how the defense approached the game.

After the Lions game, the management started doubting the efforts of the DC. It turned sour after the game against the Chiefs. Nick Bosa said that the team was not ready to see Mahomes with the ball. The Chiefs quarterback enjoyed free hand during the last attacking drive of the Chiefs. It literally took the championship from the hands of the Niners.

Nick Bosa’s comment was enough for Shanahan to cut the DC down. It is to be seen now who takes charge.
