Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is pacing to be the most beloved player in the history of his city. With two more wins, he could all but cement that fate.

Daniels, taking a destitute Commanders team to a 12-5 record in his rookie season, is taking the league by storm. Washington is the talk of the town, it’s the best story in football, and NFL fans from around the country are cheering on a Cinderella story with Super Bowl aspirations.

Count Fox sideline reporter Erin Andrews in.

Daniels’ poise on the field and kind confidence off of it has earned him numerous fans. He nearly had Tom Brady blushing after beating the Detroit Lions 45-31. Andrews joined in on the praise and revealed a cute Daniels story on her podcast “Calm Down,” which she hosts with Charissa Thompson, recalling an interaction from the Divisional Round and the impression she shared with her husband Jarrett Stoll.

"Charissa, I called Jarret after that interview and I said, 'I would like Mack Stoll to be just like Jayden Daniels.' He's so calm and cool. This is a rookie - he doesn't need to know who I am," Andrews said. "He comes over and gives me a giant hug and is like, 'Finally, we get you guys. I've been asking when we were going to get the crew.' I'm like, 'You stop it.'”

Daniels was coming off the biggest win of his life and was the best player on the field in the process. He threw for 299 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for another 51 yards. He was money on fourth down, incredible stretching the field, and safe with the football.

His second playoff win was just another accomplishment in one of the best rookie seasons in league history. Daniels would be the first to deflect that praise onto his Commanders teammates.

"He sits down, he has a gorgeous smile, he listens, he's so humble. Everything I'm saying is what everyone has been saying all week. He doesn't get rattled. I want to say good boy cause I'm 100 years old. He loves his parents, loves his coach. He's everything everyone said and more."

On Sunday, Washington will visit the Philadelphia Eagles for a chance to go to the Super Bowl. With Andrews on the sideline and a city behind him, Daniels can further entrench himself in the annals of league history. All he needs to do is win.
