The Tennessee Titans selected their quarterback of the future during the 2025 NFL Draft. Former Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward will now be under center for head coach Brian Callahan, which means that the writing is on the wall for third-year signal-caller Will Levis.
Callahan and new general manager Mike Borgonzi also went out and grabbed veterans Brandon Allen and Tim Boyle during free agency as well. This makes the Titans' quarterback room quite crowded, meaning Levis could be the odd man out after 21 starts in two seasons.
Many have theorized that Levis could be a potential trade chip for Tennessee, as he still has plenty of potential at only 25 years old.
Though Levis may not have much of a future in Tennessee with Ward now in the fold, reports are indicating that the Titans may still hold onto him. ESPN NFL Insider Jeremy Fowler confirmed this notion on Saturday's edition of SportsCenter.
"They could keep Will Levis around too," Fowler said. "I don't sense a lot of trade buzz right now, he's sort of entrenched as the backup, and they'll go from there."
Levis was a second-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, but only won five games in 21 starts for the Titans over the last two years. While he has all the physical characteristics to be a good NFL quarterback, he often struggles with decision-making.
He has thrown 21 touchdowns in his career thus far, but he has also tossed away 16 interceptions and fumbled the ball 17 times. His 61.0% completion percentage is below the league average as well, so Levis will have plenty of work to do if he hopes to dethrone Ward as the starter before Week 1 against the Denver Broncos.
