 ESPN Projects Shemar Stewart to Tally Less Than 10 Sacks in First Three NFL Seasons

 ESPN analytics expert Seth Walder simulated the first three years for the top edge rushers/defensive tackles in the 2025 NFL Draft and Shemar Stewart came in with less than 10 total sacks projected.

Stewart ranked seventh in the exercise with 9.2 projected sacks in his first three seasons. The defensive end had 4.5 sacks in three seasons at Texas A&M. Abdul Carter led the way in the projection with 15.5 projected sacks.

Walder laid out the forecast criteria in his thread on X:

  • College sack production 
  • College pressure and pass rush win rate from Pro Football Focus 
  • Scouts Inc. Grade 
  • Age 
  • Some FPI info about their college team and their opponents 
  • Position 
  • Some measurement/NFL Combine information
