As the Cleveland Browns continue to contemplate their next move at quarterback, there are names still available.
But a familiar face has just fallen off the board, although the Browns showed little interest in bringing him back.
After already signing career backup Gardner Minshew, the Kansas City Chiefs have also signed former Browns and Patriots signal-caller Bailey Zappe according to reports.
The 25-year-old Western Kentucky product started one game for the Browns last year in the last week of the season. He went 16-for-31 for 170 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in the season-ending 35-10 loss to the Ravens.
Before joining the Browns, Zappe was on the Chiefs' practice squad, where he's now likely to return.
Zappe was a fourth-round pick of the New England Patriots in 2022 and appeared in 15 games with nine starts. He went 2-0 in two starts as a rookie but collapsed in 2023 going 2-4 in six starts.
For his career, he's completed 62.1 percent of his career passes for 2,223 yards with 12 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
