It’s been years since Davante Adams played wearing Green Bay Packers colors, but fans of the Green & Gold can still watch their team’s former star wide receiver in 2025. Adams is getting ready for his first season with the Los Angeles Rams, who believe that the veteran wideout can still make big things happen downfield.
Adams started the 2024 NFL season with the Las Vegas Raiders before reuniting with ex-Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers with the New York Jets. However, the reunion didn’t result in an NFL playoff appearance. Still, Adams is looking forward to what’s in store for him and what he can do for the Rams, who signed him to a two-year, $44 million contract in March.
It’s a great opportunity to just start fresh, regardless of what happened the year before, you know, for new teams, a new player coming to a new team like this, it’s just a clean slate so you can’t really ask for much more than that,” the 32-year-old Adams told reporters on Wednesday. “Come in and fresh, it’s the healthiest the team’s going to be, so it’s just a new opportunity to be able to go out there and put it on display, so I’m excited for it.”
Although Adams played his last game with the Packers way back in 2021, Green Bay has yet to have a wide receiver who is widely viewed as the team’s legitimate No. 1 target downfield. Jayden Reed led the Packers in receiving yards in the last two seasons, but he’s not quite broken away from the other wide receivers on the team.
In any case, Green Bay has a lot of talented wide receivers, including rookie Matthew Golden, who could potentially be the team’s next great wide receiver.
