Falcons Make Bijan Robinson NFL’s Highest-Paid Running Back

The Atlanta Falcons have officially made Bijan Robinson the face of their offense — and paid him like it.

Atlanta agreed to a historic three-year contract extension with Robinson worth up to $75 million, including $51 million guaranteed. The deal carries a $25 million average annual value, making Robinson the highest-paid running back in NFL history and surpassing Saquon Barkley’s previous mark.

The move comes after Robinson established himself as one of the league’s premier offensive weapons. In 2025, he rushed for 1,478 yards while averaging 5.2 yards per carry, continuing his rise as the centerpiece of Atlanta’s offense.

For the Falcons, there was little reason to wait.

Running backs rarely receive contracts of this magnitude in today’s NFL, but Robinson isn’t a typical running back. His combination of rushing ability, receiving production and explosiveness gives Atlanta a weapon it can build its offense around for years.

The contract also sends a clear message about the Falcons’ direction. After recently committing major money to Drake London, Atlanta has now locked up another cornerstone of its offense.

Now comes the important part: winning.

Robinson has already proven he can be one of the NFL’s best running backs. With the biggest contract at his position now secured, Atlanta needs its young offensive core to help turn individual talent into postseason success.
