In a press conference on Monday, Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said the team would hold two joint practices with the Tennessee Titans a couple of days before the teams square off in a preseason week 2 game on August 15th.
The practices are scheduled to be open to the public on August 12 and 13th. This will be the first time Atlanta has held a joint practice in Flowery Branch since the Jacksonville Jaguars came to town in 2022.
The Falcons joint practices with the Titans are the only ones Atlanta currently has set up, Morris said. "It should be really exciting and fun for us to watch," Morris said. Last summer, Falcons assistant general manager Kyle Smith said, "The joint practices are so important. They're tremendous for those evaluations."
Smith also stated last summer that "OTAs, minicamp and other pad-less sessions help the team evaluate movement skills for newcomers, but padded practices, especially those against other teams, offer a new, helpful perspective."
Morris also says that these are the only joint practices the team has set up so far. The Falcons open the preseason at home on August 8th against the Detroit Lions. A week after the game against the Titans, they will finish up on the road against the Dallas Cowboys.
Atlanta will kick off the regular season on September 7th by hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 1 p.m. At a later date, further specifics on any more Atlanta Falcons joint practices or times that are open to the fans will be available.
