Fantasy Football: Updated Rookie Rankings for Dynasty Leagues
Imagn Images

As training camps are kicking off around the NFL this week, fans all across the globe are also hard at work making preparations for their upcoming fantasy football drafts, including those with a long-term focus in dynasty leagues.

In those leagues, rookie drafts give fantasy managers the opportunity to reload their rosters with young talent in hopes of building a consistent contender.

This year's class of incoming prospects features an elite prospect at the top who will be the top pick in every dynasty draft (Ashton Jeanty), as well as a handful of other skill-position players (including Heisman Trophy and two-way superstar Travis Hunter) across the board who came off the board early in the actual NFL Draft, and are poised to make an immediate impact for their new teams at the pro level.

So, who are the rookies you should target in your rookie drafts?

Here's an updated look at how I rank this year's top rookies for dynasty fantasy football leagues:

1. RB Ashton Jeanty, Raiders

The clear-cut No. 1 player in every dynasty rookie league (yes, even superflex), Jeanty is a rare talent who should immediately become the focal point of the Raiders' offense, with a three-down skill set that should result in a ton of fantasy production right away.

2. RB Omarion Hampton, Chargers

When you take a running back in the first round, the plan is to give him the ball early and often, and nobody likes to run the ball more than Jim Harbaugh. Hampton is a dynamic, three-down back with the size and skills to handle a full workload in a run-heavy scheme.

3. WR Tetairoa McMillan, Panthers

Bryce Young has some promising targets to grow with, but nobody with McMillan's combination of size and athleticism. He should immediately be a dominant red-zone threat, and should lead the target share for a team that's likely to be throwing the ball plenty late in games.

4. WR Travis Hunter, Jaguars

Who knows how much time Hunter will spend on which side of the ball, but whenever he's on offense, he'll be a threat to score every time the ball comes his way. He should get plenty of 1-on-1 opportunities with Brian Thomas Jr. on the other side of the field, too.

5. RB TreVeyon Henderson, Patriots

Rhamdondre Stevenson might keep Henderson from being a big-impact player right away, but the Ohio State product is a tough, explosive runner with the pass-catching and blocking chops to immediately steal third-down snaps, and eventually the starting job.

6. WR Emeka Egbuka, Buccaneers

If Chris Godwin misses any time early with his injury recovery, Egbuka could make an instant splash in a high-powered offense. Godwin is also 29 years old, and Mike Evans turns 32 in August, making Egbuka a wise long-term investment with a bright future.

7. TE Tyler Warren, Colts

Indy's offense might be run-heavy, but Warren's blocking prowess will keep him on the field in all formations, and should give him big-play chances in play-action. Throw in his versatility as a short-yardage/goal-line weapon, and you've got a recipe for big scoring.

8. RB RJ Harvey, Broncos

There are plenty of cooks in this kitchen, but Harvey's well-rounded skill set and explosiveness should quickly move him to the top of the depth chart. Sean Payton's offense should get the ball in his hands plenty, with a lot of room to work as both a runner and a receiver.

9. TE Colston Loveland, Bears

This passing game has plenty of mouths to feed, but as a top-10 pick, expect Loveland to be heavily involved in the action. He's a matchup nightmare as a downfield target, and Ben Johnson has proven he knows how to take advantage of a dynamic pass-catcher at the position.

10. RB Kaleb Johnson, Steelers

Jaylen Warren will still have a role as a change-of-pace back, but Johnson's size and skill set makes him a strong fit to replace Najee Harris as the early-down and short-yardage runner. He should get a ton of carries right away, especially in scoring situations.
