
Former Alabama cornerback Anthony Averett is signing with the Houston Texans practice squad. Averett last played with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Averett played at Alabama from 2013-2017. He recorded 98 tackles and 17 pass deflections for the Crimson Tide. The New Jersey native was selected in the fourth round by the Baltimore Ravens.
Over the course of his seven-year career, Averett has played for the Ravens, Las Vegas Raiders, Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers, and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Now, Averett will suit up as a part of the Texans practice squad. Other former Alabama players that will be a part of the Texans playoff push are John Metchie III, Will Anderson Jr., Christian Harris, and Henry To’oTo’o.
