Former Mizzou Standout Chase Daniel Lands Gig with ESPN

Daniels previously worked with Fox Sports as a panelist on The Facility on FS1, and as co-host of The Athletic's "Scoop City" podcast, alongside Dianna Russini and James Palmer. He's also worked as a studio analyst at NFL Network.

Per Awful Announcing, Daniel, who spent 13 seasons in the NFL playing for seven different teams, will also be seen "across ESPN's studio coverage analyzing the NFL."

Following an accomplished career at Southlake Carroll High School (Southlake, Tex.), Daniel played at Mizzou from 2005-'08. During his four years in Columbia, Mo. he set career records in passing yards (12,515), completion percentage with more than 1,000 attempts (.680), and passing touchdowns (101).

Despite his success at Mizzou, Daniel was not selected in the 2009 NFL Draft, but signed as an undrafted free agent with the Washington Redskins. From 2010-'22, Daniel played primarily as a backup with the New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Chargers. He made five career starts in the NFL.

His career with ESPN begins in Week 1 with Dusquene at Pittsburgh. He's then expected to be on the call for Austin Peay and Georgia in Week 2 and Eastern Michigan and Kentucky in Week 3.
