Former Patriots' Legend Tom Brady Reveals NIL Deal He Wishes He Had

Tom Brady will likely go down as the greatest of all time in the National Football League, and he certainly is the greatest Patriot of all time. Brady has an accolade list too long to read in his 23-year NFL career highlighted by his seven Super Bowl rings.

This week, Bleacher Report's Gridiron posted a clip on X (formerly known as Twitter) of Brady revealing the NIL deal he wished he had while he was in college, and it wasn't what you would have expected from the no-nonsense, football-focused quarterback.

NIL has developed exponentially over the last decade to the point where nearly all the star athletes have massive deals that, in some cases, earn them even more money than their rookie contract may.

For example, Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders signed a four-year, $4.6 million contract. Sanders was making an estimated $6.5 million at Colorado in NIL, according to On3.

However, Tom Brady played at Michigan from 1996 to 1999. Brady was in college a little before the time of NIL. And although Brady ended up being a sixth-round pick, being the quarterback at a Big Ten school in Michigan, I'm sure he would have had some sort of NIL interest.

In BR Gridiron's clip, Brady revealed the NIL deal he would have wanted was some kind of car deal. He said back then, "If you had transportation as a college kid, you could do anything." Brady added it was even before Uber in his college days, so everyone was trying to get a ride somewhere, and if you knew someone with a car, everyone was piling in.

This may be one of the most normal answers from the legendary quarterback who has his own TB12 diet plan and played football at age 45. But when it came to an NIL deal, Brady simply wanted a car for transportation to get around at college.
