Former Tennessee Vols defensive lineman Omarr Norman-Lott did something during Kansas City Chiefs OTAs this week that isn't easy to do.

The rookie defensive lineman, who was selected by the Chiefs in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, earned some praise from Patrick Mahomes after knocking down a pass from the superstar quarterback on Thursday.

Norman-Lott broke up a pass from Mahomes that was intended for tight end Noah Gray, which led to Mahomes giving some "vocal praise" to the former Vol.

Norman-Lott is going to have ample opportunities to produce as a rookie while playing alongside Chris Jones on Kansas City's defensive line.

There will undoubtedly be some growing pains for Norman-Lott as he adjusts to life in the NFL, but the fact that he's already flashing his playmaking ability is certainly a great sign for the former Vol.

By the way, remember those concerns about Norman-Lott's low snap count at Tennessee (17 snaps per game last season) that were floated before the NFL draft?

Well, Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo doesn't seem too worried about it.

"I hadn't thought about that," said Spagnuolo earlier this month  when asked if he's worried about Norman-Lott's productivity with a higher snap count. "I mean, typically we will rotate those guys inside, anyway. There's no indications of whether the production -- it's hard for me to tell if the production is going to be up or down based on number of reps he's gonna get. I mean, he'll be in the rotation, and hopefully we'll find four or five defensive tackles and get them all in there."

Sounds like Norman-Lott landed in an ideal situation in Kansas City.
