Former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jauan Jennings went viral on Wednesday for the way he handled the first day of training camp with the San Francisco 49ers amid his recent contract demands.
ESPN reported earlier this month that Jennings wants the 49ers to either give him a new contract or trade him.
(49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said earlier this week that Jennings hasn't asked to be traded.)
Despite the contract drama, Jennings reported to training camp on time this week. The former Vol is also participating in team activities with the 49ers (there's no "hold in" for Jennings).
If you didn't know about Jennings' contract demands, you'd never know it by watching him at training camp. Jennings looked like his normal energetic self on the field while dancing in between reps and leading the wide receiver group during practice.
Jauan Jennings looked spry, jovial, was even his typical entertaining self, dancing his way through day one of 49ers camp.

"Jauan’s been a hell of a player for us here for a while, one of our leaders, too....He had a good practice, and it was great to have him out there," said Shanahan on Wednesday.
"Jauan was awesome today with great energy and was his normal self,” added 49ers tight end George Kittle.
"I had to do some media thing the day that [Jauan Jennings' contract situation] was announced and a reporter asked me about it and I was like 'I'm pretty sure that was a fake tweet' and she almost crapped her pants it was pretty funny."

It's no surprise that Jennings is fully participating in training camp practices even though he wants a new contract (Jennings is in the final year of the two-year $15.4 million extension he signed in 2024). The former Tennessee standout is an elite competitor who is nearly impossible to keep off the field.
