Jason McIntyre has been Colin Cowherd's co-host since 2022, proving to be a strong role player for FS1's afternoon programming. However, some fans have grown frustrated with his takes.
Just a few months ago, McIntyre went viral on "The Herd" for predicting that the Kansas City Chiefs would miss the playoffs this upcoming season. The founder of "The Big Lead" has made it very clear that he's not afraid to ruffle some feathers when he's on the mic.
"You look at the last three years, Kansas City has played 10 playoff games. That’s more than half another season," McIntyre said. "We see this in the NBA all the time. When you make a run to the finals two, three years in a row, that following year, you’re drained. The bodies are breaking down, the players are wearing down. And it’s very, very difficult to keep that sustainability going. I’m making the call here. It’s mid-April before the draft. I don’t think the Kansas City Chiefs are a playoff team next year."
FS1 viewers have been calling for McIntyre's job this summer, claiming he's nothing more than a hot-take artist. Clearly, the decision-makers at FS1 don't feel the same way.

According to Awful Announcing, FS1 has decided to keep McIntyre around for at least the next three years. As part of this agreement, he'll remain the co-host of "The Herd" for the 2025 NFL season and beyond.
"The deal will bring his run at the network past a decade by its end. McIntyre’s new contract aligns directly with that of Colin Cowherd, who re-upped with FS1 earlier this year after entertaining talks with ESPN," the report from Awful Announcing states.
FS1 has already canned a few daytime shows, including "The Facility" and "Speak." That has left Emmanuel Acho, Keyshaw Johnson, LeSean McCoy, Paul Pierce and Joy Taylor looking for work.
Luckily for McIntyre, he won't have to stress about his job security - at least not for the next three years.
