Garrett Wilson Responds To Aaron Rodgers Being Noncomittal For 2025 Season

Garrett Wilson knows what he and the Jets signed up for when the team added Aaron Rodgers.

So when the future Hall of Fame QB told the "Pat McAfee Show" on Tuesday that he wasn't sure if he was going to play next season, the 24-year-old receiver wasn't entirely surprised.

"I've really valued getting to know him the last two years and the way I approached this season coming into it was that this was our one chance to go and get it, right? So anything on top of that is like a cherry on top if he wants to come back," Wilson said.

"Obviously, it hasn't gone how we expected and wanted it to go. But with that said, it's still been a blessing and something that I'll value for the rest of my life," he added. "Either way I'm fulfilled — besides the fact that we haven't won."

"I just want Aaron to do what's best for him. At the end of the day, he earned to go out on his own [terms]. So whatever he wants to do I know that we'll all support him."

Rodgers admitted that he hasn't made a decision on his NFL future during his regular appearance with the former Colts punter. But he did say that if he did come back, he'd like it to be with the Jets.

"I'm gonna wait and see what happens at the end of the season and if they want me back," the four-time MVP said. "... There's a lot of things out of my control when it comes to that but I've really enjoyed my time in New York... And I came here to win here. So I'm not jumping off ship... I don't even know if I want to play yet but New York would be my first option."

Time will tell what ultimately happens. But if the past is any predictor, it's anyone's guess how this situation plays out.
