Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants earned a win in the rookie’s first NFL start, but couldn’t make it two in a row, falling to Spencer Rattler and the New Orleans Saints 26-14 in Week 5. Dart struggled against Kellen Moore’s defense, finishing with 202 passing yards, two touchdowns and three turnovers, including two interceptions and a lost fumble.
After playing just a few snaps in the first three games of the year, Dart was elevated to the starting quarterback role in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers, sending Super Bowl winner Russell Wilson to the bench. And while Dart struggled against the Saints, the former Ole Miss quarterback had a much better day against the Chargers, earning his first NFL touchdown pass, touchdown run and win.
Now, the Giants look forward to their Week 6 matchup with Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles on "Thursday Night Football." While New York did not practice on Monday, it did reveal the estimated injury report for the upcoming NFC East battle, and Dart was listed as a limited participant due to a hamstring injury.
Not only that, but other key offensive pieces were listed as well. Running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. is limited with a shoulder issue, while wide receiver Darius Slayton is a "did not participate" due to a hamstring injury.
"The #Giants listed QB Jaxson Dart (hamstring) and RB Tyrone Tracy Jr (shoulder) as limited on their estimated injury report today," NFL Network's Tom Pelissero wrote on X. "WR Darius Slayton (hamstring) listed as DNP. They host the #Eagles on Thursday night."
