Gophers football reveals new look for upcoming season

The Gophers football team will have a new look this fall. 

A day after the other football team in town — the Minnesota Vikings — revealed an all-white jersey look, the U followed suit Friday, revealing an all-white look of its own as well as a pair of different maroon and gold looks they'll wear during the 2024 season. 

The new Nike uniforms feature significant changes, including the addition of shoulder stripes as well as stripes on the pants. The white uniforms will be worn during road games. And if you were a fan of the black uniforms, don't worry, those will be sticking around as an alternate jersey for the U this season, too. 

The uniforms are Nike Vapor Field Utility Special Edition, which are supposed to be stronger, lighter and more breathable than the previous Gophers jerseys. And if you're hoping to get a look at the new-look Gophers jerseys a little early, they will be featured on the new NCAA Football 25 video game that will be released July 29.

The new U jerseys unveiled Friday marked the first time the Gophers have revealed new uniforms since February 2018.
