Green Bay Packers’ Jaire Alexander Linked to NFC Super Bowl Contender

The Green Bay Packers‘ standoff with All-Pro cornerback Jaire Alexander has been one of the most closely watched contract sagas across the league this offseason, with little resolution in sight.

It remains to be seen whether Alexander will report to the Packers’ mandatory minicamp later this month, let alone whether he will be in the lineup when Green Bay takes on the bitter NFC North rival Detroit Lions to open up the 2025 season.

Alexander might be an ideal June 1 candidate for the Packers, and if he becomes available, could be a top target for at least one Super Bowl contender in the NFC.

Jaire Alexander’s Best Fit Revealed if Green Bay Packers Cut CB

CBS Sports’ NFL analyst Cody Benjamin predicts that the Packers and Alexander wind up agreeing on a restructured contract, but lists the Washington Commanders as a perfect destination if those talks fall through.

Washington has thrown all the chips into the middle of the table the past two years, in an effort to build around wunderkind second-year quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Pairing Alexander opposite Marshon Lattimore in the secondary would create a foridable counterpunch for the explosive wide receiver duos likely standing in the Commanders’ way of advancing one game further, to the Super Bowl this season, such as A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smithin Philadelphia, CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens in Dallas, and the Vikings’ duo of Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.

For the Packers, losing Alexander would leave a void in the secondary entering 2025, but seeing him sign with a team that could be lined up against Green Bay in the postseason may be an even more bitter pill to swallow.
