The Green Bay Packers’ O‑line has long been heralded as the model of consistency with their well known tendency to draft and develop talent internally.
In 2025 however, they have been one of the more volatile units in the NFL. Inconsistency, depth concerns, and poor run blocking have all hindered their ability to keep Jordan Love clean and open running lanes for Josh Jacobs. Injuries to newly signed vet Aaron Banks and the Packers newly extended RT Zach Tom, have only added to their lackluster performance.
Below are three players who have stood out (unfortunately) for underperformance.
I certainly think Jenkins will be able to find his groove, and it is pivotal that he does especially as we get into the colder months when handling the ball will become even more difficult. With continued reps, and hopefully an improvement across the line, I’m confident the versatile lineman will find his footing.
I believe as the line becomes healthier, and Rhyan is not asked to handle as many interior stunts solo, his game play will improve.
Hopefully Walker can return to his 2024 progress as well. He is going to need to step up for damn sure in Week 6 as he will be lined up across from Bengals game wrecker, Trey Hendrickson.
It is a long road head as the Packers come off of their BYE week. The key here is health and consistency.
The biggest key to improving their blocking woes is to re-establish the starting 5:
It is imperative that the starting 5 get reps as a cohesive unit. If they are able to maintain their health, I believe they can get back to keeping Jordan clean while he goes through his progression of weapons, and open up gaps for Jacobs to terrorize the open field.
As a side note, Packers HC Matt LaFleur needs to have Jordan do more lining up under center in my opinion. The constant shotgun hand offs, jet sweeps, and RPOs are not panning out. They need to get back to lining up as the smash mouth phsyical team that they are capable of being.
We’ll see if the Packers can get back to formula and reassert themselves as the model of blocking consistency in the NFL.
