On Sunday, the New York Giants finally ended their nine-game skid with a 34-10 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. It was rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart's third career NFL win in what has been a tumultuous season for Big Blue.
One standout from Sunday was fourth-year wideout Wan'Dale Robinson. The former Kentucky Wildcat picked up 113 yards on 11 receptions, a total that put him over 1,000 receiving yards on the season for the first time in his career.
Through four years in the NFL, Robinson has shown an increase in receptions, yards and touchdowns each season. With one game remaining, Robinson has totaled 92 receptions for 1,014 yards and four touchdowns.
Going into 2026, Robinson is set to hit the free-agent market. Last season, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir set the market for slot receivers, signing a four-year, $53M contract.
Statistically, Robinson's 2025 season is better than Shakir's campaign was before he signed his long-term deal. Robinson's projected contract is estimated at $59M over four years, averaging just under $16M per year, according to Spotrac.com.
The question is: Is that deal worth it? The short answer is yes. Robinson has turned himself into one of the most reliable slot receivers in the league. The only issue is the Giants' current cap space for next season.
For next season, the Giants currently have $23M in cap space. That number is without any potential roster moves. Despite that, wide receiver is a position of need for the Giants going into next season.
Malik Nabers will return next season, fully healthy from his multitude of ailments. Besides Nabers, the only Giants WRs under contract going into next season are Darius Slayton, Jalin Hyatt, Beaux Collins, Da'Quan Felton and Dalen Cambre.
Of those receivers, Cambre and Felton have not played a snap on offense, Collins has two catches this season, Hyatt is not expected to return and Slayton has been plagued by drops this season.
Realistically, the Giants' starting receivers next season are currently only Nabers and Slayton. With the Giants currently holding the second pick in next year's draft, it's unlikely they will take a receiver unless they trade down.
A re-signing of Robinson would help bolster a relatively weak wide receiver room, providing consistency and reliability out of the slot.
The Giants seem to be following in the footsteps of the Chicago Bears. Last season, Chicago finished 5-12 and fired their coach mid-season. Along with a new coach and a top draft pick, the Bears have turned it around, winning the NFC North for the first time since 2018.
The Giants seem like they're almost there. There were several games where they were just a couple of plays away from a win against some of the league's best teams.
For the first time in a while, the Giants don't have questions surrounding their signal-caller. Instead, those questions are on the offensive line, receiving room and the defense.
One way to solve the question around the receivers is to bring back Robinson. The Giants need to do everything in their power to ensure success for Dart, and that starts with building a reliable receiving room for him to throw to. That room should include the reliability of Robinson.
