Jackson “Jacks” Bailey, a 22-year-old Prairie View A&M University football player, has passed away, leaving the HBCU community in mourning. Though he never played in a game for the Panthers, his impact was deeply felt within the team and across campus.

A defensive lineman, Bailey joined PVAMU for the 2023–24 season after transferring from Louisiana-Monroe. He began his college football career at Arizona, where he redshirted. A native of DeSoto, Texas, Bailey earned all-state honors at Red Oak High School for his standout performance in the 2020 season.

Bailey transferred to PVAMU to be closer to family and was a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Known for his positivity, strong work ethic, and deep sense of brotherhood, Bailey was respected by teammates and coaches alike for his football intelligence, speed, and uplifting spirit. His personal motto, “God got me,” reflected the faith that guided him through life.

Beyond football, Bailey enjoyed cooking, music, gaming, and playing the piano. He cherished time with his family, especially during the holidays, and often credited his mother, Debbie, as his greatest inspiration. He is survived by his parents, Debbie and Bryon, and siblings, Taylor and Kebron.

Although his time at PVAMU was brief, the university emphasized that Bailey’s legacy will endure, remembering him not only for his athletic potential but also for his humility, humor, and heart. His dreams included playing in the NFL or helping others through a career in physical therapy.
