The Indianapolis Colts re-sign a defensive end

The Indianapolis Colts are building a competitive culture in head coach Shane Steichen’s first year with the team. Steichen brought in quarterback Gardner Minshew to compete for the starting quarterback spot with what will likely be a rookie taken in the first round of April. The team also re-signed a defensive end who will compete for playing time next season.

According to Aaron Wilson with KPRC, the Colts re-signed Khalid Kareem for the 2023 season.

Kareem is a former Cincinnati Bengals fifth-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. The Colts signed Kareem last season off the Bengals practice squad. Kareem has one start in his NFL career. He appeared in four games for the Colts last season and played 61 defensive snaps. Kareem has one sack, one forced fumble, 19 solo tackles and 14 stops in his three-year NFL career. Kareem earned a 70.1 overall grade for his play with the Colts.
