Insider makes bold Christian Watson prediction

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson is one player that people are keeping a close eye on. There is no denying the talent that he possesses, but he has had one obstacle he has been unable to overcome as a pro: injuries.

Pretty much since being selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Christian Watson has been dealing with chronic hamstring injuries. They have kept him from reaching that next level as he has issues staying on the field.

However, it sounds as if the root of the problem has been identified. Watson has spent the offseason improving his strength in his lower body, as one leg was much stronger than the other. That, in theory, was contributing to his injuries.

With his hamstring woes potentially behind him, ESPN’s Rob Demovsky believes Watson is in for a big season. The biggest surprise the Green Bay Packers will have in 2024, in Demovsky’s opinion, is their No. 1 receiver being healthy.

“Christian Watson — with the surprise being that he finally gets over his hamstring issues. Early reports on the ultra-talented receiver indicate he and the team have gotten a handle on what the issues have been over his first two seasons. If that’s the case, Watson could be in line for a big campaign,” wrote Demovsky.

If Watson can remain healthy, the Packers’ offense can be taken to another level. There are a lot of talented pass catchers on the roster, but none of the players has the potential that the North Dakota State product does.

Standing 6-4 and weighing 208 pounds, Watson has a rare combination of size and athleticism. His dominance has been on display for stretches of his career, but not with any consistency because of his injuries.

The team certainly hopes that the work he has put in this offseason pays off. If he can stay on the field, the Packers will have one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL.
