Insider Provides Latest Update on Raiders & Hunter Renfrow

Former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Hunter Renfrow became a fan favorite during his five-year tenure with the Silver and Black. After being selected in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, he blossomed into a Pro Bowler during his time with the franchise.

However, after two lackluster campaigns, the Raiders let him leave in free agency, and no NFL team picked him up for the entirety of the 2024 season. Earlier this offseason, Renfrow met with Las Vegas about a potential reunion, and The Athletic's Vic Tafur provided an update on the situation on Friday.

"It doesn’t sound like the reunion is going to happen," wrote Tafur. "Though the Raiders could always revisit it after the draft."

Renfrow was the team's top target during the 2021 playoff run, leading the Raiders with 1,038 receiving yards. He was one of the leaders who helped propel the team to the postseason that year despite immense drama off the field and a tragedy that struck the locker room.

Las Vegas still needs to add another pass-catcher or two to the wide receiver room, and while Renfrow could have fit the bill, it seems that the new regime would rather look for a younger player with more upside. Renfrow's run with the franchise will always be legendary to Raider Nation, but it sounds like a reunion is not likely at this point.
