Noah Lyles , Olympic gold medalist, recently took a dig at Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill , saying that he can easily beat him in a race. Lyles discussed this very topic in the ‘Funky Friday’ podcast with Cam Newton. Lyles, who has represented Team USA on an international platform, even winning a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, admitted that the race with Tyreek Hill will be over even before it has started.
Lyles and Hill have been eyeing a race with each other for the last few years. However, nothing of the sort has ever come to pass. The whole racing thing with each other started off when Lyles joked that NFL players were truly world champions since they never compete on an international level. Tyreek Hill came out to call out Lyles, remarking that he can easily defeat him in a race.
“You can’t really fathom that until you see it in person, and if we go for the Olympics, it’s like what’s next. All right, give me your best guy. If Tyreek is your best guy, come on, I’ll whoop you real quick, I’ll show you, it’d be over in the first five meters, probably first three steps…” Noah Lyles talked about beating Tyreek Hill in a race on the ‘Funky Friday’ podcast with Cam Newton.
Noah Lyles managed to win the gold medal in the 100m race in the 2024 Paris Olympics. He also won the bronze medal in the same Olympics for the 200m event. This was Lyles’ first gold medal in the Olympic platform.
Noah Lyles is definitely faster than Tyreek Hill when it comes to his record. Hill can run a 100m dash in 10.28 seconds, according to MileSplit. Meanwhile, Lyles’ personal best is 9.784 seconds for the 100m dash, which was at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Tyreek Hill is easily known as one of the fastest players in the NFL today, and thereby has a nickname, ‘Cheetah’. In his rookie season back in 2016, the wide receiver hit an unforgettable 23.24 mph kick return. In the 2023 NFL season, Hill managed a 22.19 mph speed on a touchdown run according to Next Gen stats.
As of now, Tyreek Hill is getting ready for another season of NFL with the Miami Dolphins. In the 2024 NFL season, the wide receiver managed a total of 81 receptions for 959 yards, scoring six touchdowns with the team.
