Jaxson Dart’s injury is now worse than expected

The New York Giants saw star quarterback Jaxson Dart leave the game early during the 28-6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football.

Dart sustained a knee injury, and the MRI on Tuesday revealed that it was a lot worse than expected, with NFL Network insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reporting that Dart could miss the entire season.

Dart was sandwiched by a pair of Rams defenders in the first quarter, and he wasn’t able to return as Jameis Winston took his spot.

The initial diagnosis was that Dart had a sprained MCL, which means he would miss time, although not the entire season.

Reports stated that Dart even tried to talk his way back into the game, although the Giants kept him sidelined and used Winston for the rest of the MNF contest.

Dart had 230 yards passing and 3 touchdowns in the Week 1 win over the Dallas Cowboys, but the offense for New York was nowhere near as dominant once Winston came into the game on Monday. The Giants take on the Tennessee Titans in Week 3.
