It’s hard to find another receiver that’s been through as many ups and downs as Jerry Jeudy. He was once thought to be a Pro Bowl contender when he played for Denver. He was then traded to Cleveland, where he almost became irrelevant until the second half of the season, when he caught fire. Now he is on a team with several questions at quarterback, so how much faith can drafters have in Jeudy?
2024 was basically a tale of two seasons for Jerry Jeudy. Up to Week 7, Jeudy’s numbers were abysmal: he only had one touchdown to his name, and his season high yardage was 73. This culminated in a three-week stretch where he only had one reception in each game.
Then, Watson got injured, and Jameis Winston made it a point to target Jeudy. His receptions went up, and so did his production. He hit 100 yards three times in the remaining games, and he even had a 40-point fantasy game against his former Denver Broncos.
Since there are so many questions that need to be answered at quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, it’s hard to rate Jeudy highly going into the new season. The good thing about Jerry Jeudy, though, is that fantasy players shouldn’t need to use an early-round pick on him. Jeudy’s ADP is currently 72nd overall, which in an eight-man league would mean he’s getting picked in the ninth round.
There is no reason to make Jeudy a WR1 or even a WR2. When it comes to the latter half of the draft, where players are filling out their benches with players they hope will have upside, Jeudy would be a great player for this role. Now that Amari Cooper is gone, Jeudy will be the primary target for whoever plays quarterback for the Browns, whether it’s Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, or even Shedeur Sanders.
