Jerry Jeudy: Browns Wide Receiver Dynasty Outlook
Main Photo: Charles LeClaire-Imagn Images

Jerry Jeudy signed with the Cleveland Browns in the offseason for 3 years, $52 million, after spending the first four seasons of his career with the Denver Broncos. He has had two completely different halves in 2024, being terrible with Watson as a quarterback and one of the best wide receivers with Winston under center. What is Jerry Jeudy’s dynasty outlook for the future with the questions at quarterback for the Browns?

Dynasty Outlook for Jerry Jeudy

Production with the Denver Broncos (2020-2023)

Jeudy spent the first four seasons with the Broncos and never met the expectations of the #15 overall draft pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. In fantasy, he finished as the WR47 in 2020, WR85 in 2021, WR22 in 2022, and WR50 in 2023 in total fantasy points in his first four seasons. He played in at least 15 games every year except for 2021. Only in 2022 was he a consistent, usable wide receiver in fantasy football.

Production With Deshaun Watson

Watson was the starting quarterback for the Browns in Weeks 1 through 7 before leaving Week 7 with a season-ending Achilles injury. In those seven weeks, Jeudy was WR69 in fantasy points per game, averaging 7.9 points. He was WR57 in total fantasy points. Either way, he was off fantasy radars, never finishing as a top-25 receiver in any of the first seven weeks. He only had one touchdown in that span as well.

Production With Jameis Winston

Winston rejuvenated the Browns offense after taking over as the starting quarterback for them in Week 8. Watson and Winston each made seven starts this season. Watson threw for 1148 passing yards, while Winston threw for 2121 yards. The biggest beneficiary of the QB change was Jerry Jeudy. Between Weeks 8 and 15, Jeudy was the WR5 in total fantasy points (with a bye week) and the WR3 in fantasy points per game. Only Ja’Marr Chase and Mike Evans are averaging more fantasy points than Jeudy during this stretch.

During those seven games, Jeudy has received double-digit targets four times. He also has three touchdowns during that span. He has finished as a top-20 receiver in five straight weeks, including as the overall WR1 with 40.5 fantasy points in the Week 13 victory over the Broncos. Jeudy was turning into a league winner for everyone who picked him up off of waivers midseason.

Jerry Jeudy Dynasty Price

According to KeepTradeCut, Jerry Jeudy is currently the WR35 just ahead of Mike Evans and one spot behind Keon Coleman. In the last 30 days, his ranking has jumped 71 spots. This is the highest increase among any of the top 90 wide receivers on the site. His value has been the highest since the start of the 2023 season.

Jerry Jeudy Dynasty Outlook

Unfortunately for Jeudy, Winston is unlikely to return to the Browns in 2025, as he signed a 1-year deal for the 2024 season. However, Watson is expected to return to the Browns in 2025. The Browns owe him so much money that they are stuck with him. Watson being the starting quarterback on the Browns will hurt Jeudy and all skill players on the team.

Even if Watson is not the quarterback, the most likely options are Thompson-Robinson or a rookie quarterback that they draft in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft. Thompson-Robinson is the starter for the rest of the season and has a career 51% completion percentage and one touchdown compared to seven interceptions in three career starts and 12 appearances. The Browns are giving DTR a chance to prove himself. Jeudy’s stock takes a big hit with him as quarterback for the rest of 2024.

What to Do With Jerry Jeudy in Dynasty Leagues

Jerry Jeudy probably had the best career stretch with Winston under center. Unless the Browns find a quarterback as good as Winston for 2025, Jeudy will not have much production in the future. He was not even a top 50 wide receiver with Watson as the quarterback. Jeudy is a great sell-high candidate in the offseason for dynasty leagues. Jeudy had a great run, looking like a league-winner for 2024, but that run will probably come to an end as 2024 winds down and into the future years with all the questions the Browns have at quarterback.
