Jerry Jones Receives Unexpected Message on Wednesday

One of the few cultural fixtures from the 1990s that was arguably bigger than the ’90s Cowboys is Bill Clinton. Clinton served as the 42nd president of the United States from 1993 to 2001. A member of the Democratic Party, he positioned himself as a centrist “New Democrat,” supporting policies that blended traditional liberal goals with more moderate fiscal approaches. His presidency was also marked by significant controversy, including his impeachment by the House of Representatives in 1998 on charges related to perjury and obstruction of justice, though he was later acquitted by the Senate.

On Wednesday, ESPN’s Todd Archer reported that Clinton unexpectedly was in attendance at the Cowboys’ pre-draft press conference. In the X post, a photo is shared showing Clinton speaking with Jones near the press table, with the former president wishing the Cowboys owner, president and general manager — all titles Jones claims — good luck in the 2026 NFL Draft.

“So this is a first: President Bill Clinton has arrived for the Cowboys’ pre-draft press conference,” Archer wrote. “He wished Jerry Jones good luck in the draft.”

Dallas currently has two first-round selections (Nos. 12 and 20) in the 2026 NFL Draft, which begins April 23.
