The New York Jets running back Breece Hall has missed three games with a quadriceps injury, and head coach Aaron Glenn said Wednesday how the backfield will look once the running back returns.
Glenn confirmed that Hall remains the starter but said backup Braelon Allen will still have a role. “Breece is our starter, he’s always been our starter, but Braelon is going to get touches too,” Glenn said, according to The Athletic’s Zack Rosenblatt.
Allen has rushed for 253 yards and a touchdown on 55 carries over the past three games, filling in as the lead back in Hall’s absence.

Hall has not played since September 27, when he left the Jets’ Week 3 loss to the Detroit Lions in the fourth quarter. He has since missed games against the Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots. New York did not place him on injured reserve, which would have kept him out for at least four games.
Glenn said Hall will not practice on Wednesday but did not rule him out for Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins. The Jets enter Week 7 with a 2-4 record, while the winless Dolphins are 0-5.
Hall, 25, set a career high with 1,065 rushing yards last season and signed a three-year, $43.5 million extension in May after the Jets placed the franchise tag on him. Allen, a 2024 fourth-round pick, returned this season from a knee injury that ended his 2025 campaign after four games.
How the Jets divide the work once Hall returns could shape an offense that is trying to turn around a slow start. Allen has given the team a productive option, but Glenn’s comments show that Hall will get the first call once he is cleared.
