Jets Inactives vs Raiders
USA TODAY Network via Reuters Connect

The Jets Inactives vs Raiders report is official, and the news is not particularly encouraging for Aaron Glenn’s team. Breece Hall will miss another game, while rookie pass rusher David Bailey and veteran Joseph Ossai are also unavailable. The Jets enter Sunday’s matchup at MetLife Stadium with a 2-5 record and a defense that will be missing several important players.

New York Jets Inactive Players vs Raiders

  • EDGE David Bailey
  • RB Breece Hall
  • OL Kohl Levao
  • OL Max Mitchell
  • EDGE Joseph Ossai
  • WR Tim Patrick
  • CB Nahshon Wright

The seven players were confirmed in the official Jets inactive report, released at 11:30 a.m. ET. Hall’s continued absence means Braelon Allen will once again be counted on to lead the running game. Allen has shown he can handle the workload, but the Jets need to establish some consistency on offense rather than relying on a few big plays to keep them in games.

Jets Defensive Line Takes Another Hit

The biggest concern might be on the defensive side of the ball. Bailey and Ossai are both inactive, and the Jets placed defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat on injured reserve Saturday. That’s a significant amount of talent missing from the defensive front, especially against Raiders quarterback Kirk Cousins, who has been productive this season.

The Jets signed defensive lineman Payton Page to the active roster and elevated edge rusher Quinton Bell from the practice squad. Both could be asked to contribute immediately, and Aaron Glenn will need to find ways to generate pressure without leaving his secondary exposed. With Nahshon Wright also inactive, the defense has even less margin for error.

More Opportunities for the Jets Offense

Tim Patrick is inactive at wide receiver, but the Jets still have Garrett Wilson, Adonai Mitchell and rookie Omar Cooper Jr. available for Geno Smith. Dylan Parham is also not on the inactive list after being questionable during the week, which is encouraging for an offensive line that will be without Max Mitchell and Kohl Levao.

The Jets have been competitive in several games this season, but competitive isn’t enough when you’re sitting at 2-5. Against a Raiders team that has lost four straight games, this is an opportunity to get back in the win column. The injuries make things more difficult, but the Jets still have enough talent to win this football game.

Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium. Join the conversation in the Raiders at Jets GameDay Thread on the JetNation forums before, during and after the game.
