An NFL roster is a constantly evolving entity. And Jets GM Joe Douglas is not done tinkering with the 2024 version of the team.
The New York Jets are signing safety Jalen Mills to the practice squad. Mills who spent the last three seasons with the New England Patriots, was drafted in the seventh round by Philadelphia Eagles out of LSU back in 2016.

The 30-year-old Mills spent the 2024 training camp with the New York Giants but was cut prior to the season. The Jets were looking to add some depth to their safety position and even tried to sign former first round pick Lewis Cine after he was cut from the Minnesota Vikings, but he ultimately spurned the Jets in favor of their divisional rival Buffalo Bills.
For his career, Mills has appeared in 106 games, making seven interceptions and tallying 406 tackles.
Mills appears happy to be headed to the Jets where he looks to extend his eight-year career in Robert Saleh's defense.
GOD is the GREATEST.!

In six career games against the Jets, all of which were when he was a member of the New England Patriots, Mills has 10 total tackles including one for a loss.
The Mills signing shows the team might not be too thrilled with the play they have gotten from safeties Chuck Clark and Tony Adams. The Jets defense was g ashed in the first two games especially on the ground.
The former Eagle and Patriot, nicknamed "the Green Goblin" had been dealing with a calf injury but he is now “recovered” which led to his signing with the Jets.
Mills brings experience to a defense that is still young, especially in the secondary. Mills won a Super Bowl with the Eagles back in 2018. Having someone with that kind of experience is never a bad thing.
