Joe Burrow ranks in top 10 of NFL's top 100

The NFL has revealed its top 100 players of 2023 ranking. It should come as no surprise that QB Joe Burrow has entered the top 10, but where he is ranked may cause some to scratch their heads.

Burrow comes in at No. 6 in the ranking, which puts him up 15 spots from a year ago. However, he's the third-highest quarterback on the list behind Eagles' Jalen Hurts, and of course, Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes.

"Burrow remains one of the best young quarterbacks in the game, finishing top-five in most major passing categories," NFL.com writes. "Cincinnati is expected to reward his play handsomely with an imminent extension that could put him among the highest-paid at his position."

The 26-year-old was elected to his first Pro Bowl and finished fourth place in the Most Valuable Player voting following his 4,732-yard and 40-touchdown season. But it was the two quarterbacks that appeared in Super Bowl LVII that rank higher.

Even Burrow acknowledged that Mahomes remains unanimously the best quarterback in the league.

"I don't think there's any argument right now. It's Patrick until someone has a better year than he's had. He's the one to knock off," Burrow said, via PFF.

However, there is certainly an argument to be made that Burrow should be higher than Hurts, who had 4,461 yards and 35 touchdowns last year.

Burrow will have an opportunity to climb the list in 2023 but it will take maybe his best season yet. Delivering the Bengals their first ever Super Bowl championship wouldn't hurt his case.
