Joe Flacco's Time As A Cleveland Brown Has Come to an End
Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The writing was on the wall but Tuesday it became official, Joe Flacco's time in Cleveland has come to an end.

Joe Flacco went from villain to hero in Cleveland and it took only six weeks. The Browns were desperate for answers and they looked to the then 39-year-old veteran to try and save them.

Not only did Flacco save the season, but he re-instilled faith and belief in this franchise.

Flacco's first start for Cleveland came on the road in Los Angeles and he got off to an incredible start. He engineered a near-perfect 75-yard touchdown drive and from that moment on had people believing that he could do it.

He then came to his new home and began what would be a four-game win streak for the Browns that propelled them into the playoffs for the first time since 2020 and only the second time since they returned to Cleveland.

The magical run came to an end down in Houston when the Browns' luck finally ran out. It all ended when Flacco tried to make something out of nothing and instead of throwing the ball away, tried to make a play which resulted in a floating pass that was intercepted and returned for a touchdown ending Cleveland's chances.

Flacco joins a young Colts team as a backup to rookie Anthony Richardson. Richardson missed the majority of his rookie season after suffering an injury to his throwing shoulder.

While Flacco may have wanted a chance to be a starter, he joins a ready-made roster that if they do need to call on him, he will again have a chance at another magical run.

Flacco's time in Cleveland was just a small blip on the radar but, he gave this franchise, this team, and this town countless memories that they will hang onto forever.
