John Morton is ready for his second chance to be an NFL offensive coordinator

John Morton was technically an external hire as replaces Ben Johnson as Detroit Lions' offensive coordinator, but he's not far from an internal hire. He was on the coaching staff in 2022, so he knows many of the players and coaches that are still in place now. On Tuesday at the NFL Combine, head coach Dan Campbell talked about the fit Morton is as he takes on the task of keeping one of the league's best offenses rolling. "When we put this thing together, he was a part of this", Campbell said. I felt like that was the best move for us, was to get him back here. (He’s) somebody that I have a lot of trust in (and) faith in. Goff knows (him and is) comfortable with.
